Yesa Sikyi (pronounced yessa seechee) came together on the jazz course at Trinity College of Music in London and all members of the band now approaching their final year.
Having recently released their debut album ‘Vol. 1’ featuring 5 original tunes, the group are gaining an increasing following in London and beyond for their repertoire of beautiful arrangements of standards and their ever-expanding repertoire of original tunes.
Having performed in London a lot : Jackdaw jazz cafe, the Vortex as part of the Blow The Fuse: Tomorrow The Moon series, and More Music In Morecambe supporting the internationally acclaimed Troyka earlier in the year and also performed at Manchester Jazz festival, the group have been described as ‘The next generation of fabulous young players’.
Played at Lancaster Jazz Festival last September and planning a new album for 2016 along with collaborating with other young jazz musicians, the band are growing from strength to strength.
